The squid message board has been hacked for the second time this year.

Unfortunately, this time the damage is unrecoverable: the board software itself is over years old-- it was in use before I even came to UCSD-- and unsupported. In other words, if I restore from a backup we have at most a few days until somebody hacks it again.

Our other option is to switch to a new board software and port the backup data into it. It will take some crazy gymnastics to make that happen. For the time being, the board is simply down.

I know it sucks.
